PHILANTHRO PRODUCTIONS AND CHRYSALIS ASPIRE TO END HOMELESSNESS IN LOS ANGELES

Philanthro Productions, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing Los Angeles� young urbanites with unique opportunities to give back, announced today its new partnership with Chrysalis. Chrysalis is an organization dedicated to helping disadvantaged and homeless individuals become self-sufficient by helping them find and prepare for employment opportunities. Philanthro will host Aspire at Air Conditioned Supper Club in Venice on Friday, February 26th.

Aspire will be Philanthro Productions Los Angeles� kick-off event of 2010. To date, Philanthro has donated over $170,000 to partner charities and Philanthro Los Angeles was able to donate 96% of its event proceeds last year. Philanthro Productions will continue its tradition of efficiency and giving by donating 100% of the door cover to Chrysalis.

“Los Angeles has more homeless than any other city in the United States. We were emotionally impacted when visiting Chrysalis’ office on Skid Row and seeing the inspiring programs that change lives through job placement,� said co-president, Farhan Mahmood, �We witnessed first hand sustainable solutions to one of Los Angeles’ biggest problems.”

For over 25 years, Chrysalis has had a meaningful presence in the Los Angeles community. With three centers in downtown LA, Santa Monica and in the San Fernando Valley, Chrysalis has helped over 35,000 disadvantaged individuals to become self-sufficient and get back on their feet.

In keeping with the spirit of the Chrysalis community, Philanthro Productions will be hosting a food tasting from local restaurants in Venice, Santa Monica, and the Greater LA area. Confirmed restaurant sponsors to date are Sauce on Hampton, Casa, Wharo, Dagwood Pizza, and Del�s Lemonade. The tasting will be set to the live music from the critically acclaimed band, �Freddy & Francine.� After the food tasting, patrons will be able to dance the night away to the sounds of DJ KKS (of Red Filter Music � LA).
