The 16th Annual Chamber of Commerce Polo Tournament was held at Will Rogers State Park–the last remaining grass polo field in Los Angeles County–on Sunday Oct. 5. The Body Inspired Fitness team was crowned this year’s champions. In a dramatic come-from-behind victory they beat the Wells Fargo Private Bank team 10 to 8.
Crowds came to watch six teams compete for this year’s title. Champaign flowed freely during the traditional divot stomp as family and friends kicked off their shoes to repair the grass field. There was also a silent auction and face-painting for kids.
Honorary Mayor Gavin MacLeod, and Mr. and Miss Palisade Chris Alexakis and Elena Loper, Chamber President Antonia Balfour and Steve Ghysel, whose team was crowned last year, threw out the ball at the start of each game.
