Renowned stylist to the stars and founder of the award winning hair care line, Prive Products, Laurent Dufourg, will launch his fifth Prive Salon on May 15th in the prestigious Malibu Lumber Yard, it was announced today. Prive Salon Malibu is set to open in a 1,000-square-foot space in the two-story open-air Lumber Yard known for its environmentally friendly construction and sustainable design approach.
Malibu is the perfect place for our newest salon,states Laurent. My clients have been asking me for years when we would open a salon there and when I saw the space at the Malibu Lumber Yard, I knew the time was right. I have always been dedicated to making the industry more environmentally friendly so this eco-conscious location was a natural choice.
The eight- chair, full-service salon, which will offer hair, make-up, waxing and nail services, will be designed with natural materials, distressed wood and stone throughout the open, naturally lit space.
Laurent’s son, Chelby Dufourg, worked closely with his father on the opening of the Malibu location, masterminding the design of this next generation Prive Salon. The salon has been conceived to be in harmony with the green approach of the Lumber Yard, adds Chelby. I wanted the materials used throughout the space to be eco-friendly and compliment the chic, earthy feel of the complex.
Neighboring restaurants such as Cafe Habana and Chocolate Box Cafe, will partner with Prive to offer salon clientele chair-side catering service. Being situated steps away from the area’s most prestigious shops including Tory Burch, La Perla, Maxfield, Intermix, and Alice + Olivia, adds even more appeal to the salon as a destination.
Prive Salon Malibu will join Dufourg’s impressive roster of salons located in Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Orlando. The salon will carry Prive’s prestigious Formule Aux Herbes and Concept Vert product lines as well as a wide selection of hair supplies, accessories, tools and brushes.
