Republican Organizations To Conduct Viewing Parties For Debates Involving Top 10 Candidates

2016-republican-party-presidential-debateRepublican organizations will conduct viewing parties at six sites in Los Angeles County and two in Orange County for today’s debate involving the party’s top 10 presidential candidates.

The Los Angeles County watch parties will be held at:

— 200 E. Rowland St., Covina;

— Clancy’s Crab Broiler, 219 N. Central Ave., Glendale;a

— BeX Underground Bowling Lounge, 706 W. Lancaster Blvd., Lancaster;

— Tamarindo’s, Long Beach Marriott, 4700 Airport Plaza Drive, Long Beach;

— Busby’s, 3110 Santa Monica Blvd., Santa Monica; and

— 26037 Huntington Lane, Valencia.

The Orange County watch parties will be held at:

— China Palace, 2800 W. Coast Highway, Newport Beach; and

— Santiago Canyon College, SCC Room H-106, 8045 E. Chapman Ave.

The two-hour debate will begin at 5 p.m. on CNBC. It is being held at the Coors Events Center at the University of Colorado Boulder.

What is being titled “The Republican Presidential Debate: Your Money, Your Vote,” will focus on job growth, taxes, technology, retirement and the health of the national economy, according to CNBC Chairman Mark Hoffman.

“We focus on money — from financial markets and economies around the world to the most fundamental pocketbook issues involving savings and retirement,” Hoffman said.

“Financial freedom, entrepreneurship and job growth are core to Americans’ decision-making process when they cast their vote.”

The field is identical to the last top tier debate held Sept. 16 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley with the exception of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who has dropped out of the race.

Candidates who averaged 3 percent in nine polls released between Sept. 20 and last Wednesday qualified for the debate sanctioned by the Republican National Committee.

The nine polls were also used to determine the order the candidates will appear on stage. Businessman Donald J. Trump and retired pediatric neurosurgeon Ben Carson will be at the center of the stage.

To Trump’s right will be Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

To Carson’s left will be Former Hewlett-Packard Chairman and CEO Carly Fiorina, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul.

The debate will be moderated by CNBC’s Carl Quintanilla, co-anchor of “Squawk on the Street” and “Squawk Alley”; Becky Quick, co-anchor of “Squawk Box;” and John Harwood, the network’s chief Washington correspondent.

The debate is the third in a series.

“Each debate continues to grow and strengthen the Republican Party as our voters continue to hear the diverse and strong ideas from our various candidates,” Ninio Fetalvo, a Republican National Committee deputy press secretary, told City News Service.

To Eric Walker, a Democratic National Committee regional press secretary, “the GOP has pandered to the intolerant fringe of their party” during their debates, which “have only served to further alienate women, African-Americans, Hispanics, Asian-Americans, Native Americans, LGBT Americans and others.”
