Saint John’s Health Center’s 2009 Caritas Gala

What: At the 2009 Caritas Gala, Saint John’s Health Center will be honoring actor Chris O’Donnell for his dedication to Saint John’s and long-time Health Center supporters Waldo and Jean Burnside and Jack and Joan Michel for their incredible work and charitable contributions over the years.

Each year, the Saint John’s Foundation and the Irene Dunne Guild host the Caritas Gala and honor an individual or individuals who demonstrate compassion and concern for others through exceptional service to the community.

Where: Beverly Wilshire
9500 Wilshire Boulevard
Beverly Hills, CA 90212

Why: At a time when hospitals are closing and quality health care eludes many families, Saint John’s continues to provide competent, compassionate care to greater Los Angeles. The proceeds from the Caritas Gala benefit the Health Center. The Irene Dunne Guild Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the Maria Shriver Nursery and the Fast Track Unit of Saint John’s Emergency Department are examples of vital projects funded by this event. The Caritas Gala is also the primary mechanism by which Saint John’s communicates with the public at large to share the word that this unique community hospital is an essential health care resource available to everyone.

When: Saturday Evening, October 24, 2009
5:45 p.m. Media/Photo Session with Honorees and Sponsors
6:30 p.m. Cocktails
7:30 p.m. Dinner
8:45 p.m. Award Presentation

Attendees: With an annual attendance of 600 individuals, the Caritas Gala has a distinguished following of prominent Westside residents, including the Saint John’s Board of Trustees, Irene Dunne Guild, patrons and friends, physicians and hospital leadership, prominent business and community leaders.
