September Flamenco Shows at El Cid Celebrating 50 Years of Flamenco

El Cid, continuing its celebration of 50 years of Flamenco dinner theatre, presents Flamenco Dinner Theatre every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. El Cid, the venerable Spanish-inspired restaurant and live music venue, located in Los Angeles’ Silver Lake Sunset Junction neighborhood brings these highly exciting performances filled with dynamic rhythms from internationally and locally recognized artists.

Noche en Triana every Sunday at 5:30 pm. The cuadro flamenco forms on stage against a backdrop of drumming handclaps, a voice moans the cante jondo, that pure essence of Andalusian song. Dancers strike the tablao with thundering footwork. Tension mounts as the performers unleash their fiery improvisations to the compelling rhythms of the guitar. This is the native art of Triana, where flamenco has a long tradition, where rhythm is life.
Angelita Concierto Flamenco every Saturday at 7:30 pm. El Cid is excited to have Angelita back to perform traditional Flamenco every Saturday where members of her Flamenco dance company will join her as well as a very special guest, one of the original owners of El Cid, Juan Talavera, who will perform with Angelita once a month for incredible evenings of memorable Flamenco. Angelita also welcomes a new singer, Guillermo Gonzalez from Sevilla. Witness the classic style of pure flamenco dance while enjoying sangria and authentic Spanish tapas.
