On July 23rd, The Vintage Tango Ensemble returns to La Seoora. Re-creating historic concerts blending tangos, milongas and music with a Hispanic flair, their pithy descriptions of the pieces bring historic music to life.
Each year, this extraordinary Tango string ensemble, led by Alan Busteed brings a guest artist who was part of the history they play for us; this year’s special guest is the august Bandoneon performer Roberto Alejandro Scarpino.
The format for Tango on a Summer’s Eve brings the audience into a colorful journey and fascinating history of Tango through a careful selection of diverse and interesting pieces with narrations by individual performers.
Guests don ‘festive attire’ for this evening at the Mojica Hacienda as they consider the possibility of dancing in the moonlight within the patios of the botanical gardens. The 6:30 reception with h’ors d’ouvres and wine brings time to explore this historic setting; docents help guide through Rancho Era chapel. stage stop and the 50-seat 1930’s theater where classic films are screened. The 7:00 p.m.Concert in the Mojica Music Salon will be followed by dessert and coffee….. and more dancing.
