THE 16th ANNUAL BRAZILIAN SUMMER FESTIVAL 2009

WHAT: The much-anticipated, annual LA tradition of Brazilian Summer Festival (now in its 16th year) erupts on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Ford Amphitheatre. The 2009 edition features the rhythms of Rio de Janeiro through the Samba and Bossanova, plus the acrobatic Capoeira show with LA Legend Mestre Amen and dancers and the exuberant Brazilian choreographies of the Vai-vai Sambaxé troupe. Headlining is Latin Grammy , singer Nominee DIOGO NOGUEIRA directly from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Opening the festival is pianist Marcos Ariel with a variety of bossanova beats! Doors open two hours prior to the show for picnicking, booths and music from DJ Izael.

TICKET INFO: Tickets for the Brazilian Summer Festival 2009, priced at $45 and $12 for children 12 and under, are available at www.FordTheatres.org or 323 461-3673 (for non-visual media 323 GO 1- FORD) or www.BrazilianNites.com. Through the Ford’s early buyer incentive, adults who buy tickets on or before June 12 pay only $40. Tickets are General Admission only, no assigned seats.
