The Sexual Recovery Institute and Elements Behavioral Health announce acquisition

As problem sexual behaviors, including sexual addiction, compulsive internet and porn abuse, and professional boundary violations continue to dominate headlines, the Sexual Recovery Institute (SRI) and Elements Behavioral Health are combining forces to expand sexual disorders treatment and programming across the U.S. and beyond.

The acquisition, announced today in the Los Angeles Times, will provide a continuum of care for current Elements Behavioral Health treatment programs (Promises Treatment Centers, The Ranch) in the realm of problem sexual behaviors.

“The goal of this acquisition is to leverage SRI’s intensive outpatient program (IOP), along with Founding Director Robert Weiss’ expertise, to grow and develop more robust programs within our family of treatment centers,†remarked David Sack, MD, CEO of Elements Behavioral Health. “Simply put, through providing programs that are timely and relevant to burgeoning addiction issues, more individuals will have access to the treatment they need.â€

Added Robert Weiss, LCSW, CSAT-S, founding director of SRI: “This opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time. We are seeing more and more issues around problem sexual behavior, particularly as advancing technology – think smart phones and social networks – provides an easily accessible and anonymous ‘playing field’ for these types of behaviors. People are seeking treatment for sex addiction, and through this expansion our resources and recovery reach will increase exponentially.â€
