Nearly every star in Hollywood has written his or her memoir, but nobody can top Tippi Hedren. Do you know that the gorgeous blonde who starred in Hitchcock’s classic, “The Birds,” resides in Shambala, the wild-animal sanctuary she created in Acton, California? In addition, that her closest neighbors are lions and tigers?

The-still glamorous star, mother to Melanie Griffith and grandmother to Dakota Johnson (“Fifty Shades of Grey”) was honored by Donelle Dadigan, Founder of the Hollywood Museum, with an exhibit that includes items worn by Hedren in “The Birds,” and her Golden Globe trophy. The occasion acted as an official launch for Tippi’s tome, and among those in attendance were Barbara Eden (along with several “Genie” lamps; Dawn Wells from “Gilligan’s Island,” Patrika Darbo, and Tippi’s grandson – Alexander Johnson (Don Johnson’s handsome son).

Tippi wanted to set the record straight on her relationship with famed director Alfred Hitchcock, and her dedication as an animal activist and humanitarian. We highly recommend this powerful and intriguing book, which will give you the privilege of getting to know this extraordinary woman

Appropriately called “The Talk of the Town,” The Associates for Breast and Prostrate Cancer Studies (ABCs) in their 27 years of existence, have raised more than $14 million to fund cancer research. This year, they honored Dame Joan Collins, Anjelica Huston, and Marcel Loh, at their benefit for the John Wayne Cancer Institute at St. John’s Health Center. E-News correspondent Melanie Bromley hosted the SRO event, and The Bangles performed. You can have the opportunity to see these girl-rock icons known for such hits as “Walk Like an Egyptian” at the Whiskey A Go-Go on Sunset Blvd. They will debut the release of their retrospective collection, “Ladies and Gentlemen: The Bangles.” The dates are December 8, 9 and 10. Everything old is new again – Thank God!
