Vidiots Expands

Vidiots event featuring Oliver Stone
Now in its 25th year, Vidiots moves forward to provide movie lovers with a place where they can learn more about those films and genres that intrigue, excite and inspire them.

Want to know more about French films after the New Wave? How about taking courses on this generation’s auteurs or a class on eroticism and film? The Vidiots Annex, located in a stylish and comfortable classroom within the store, will feature expert teachers and filmmakers talking about the movies they love best…it’s like going back to film school but without the homework. The Annex will also be a place where a regular film club can meet and will offer community outreach to film students at local high schools.

Vidiots’ owners Patty Cohen and Cathy Tauber, who were recently featured on KCRW’s film industry program “The Business,†say that the Annex is an organic development inspired by the many customers who love to come up to the counter and chat with the store’s knowledgeable staff about their latest discoveries. For its 25th anniversary, Vidiots will now offer the perfect place to continue those cinematic conversations.

The premiere Vidiots Annex season will begin July 12th.. Schedules and registration information can be found at vidiotsannex.com. (People who register by June 12th will receive a 25 percent discount, limited to space available.)

Located in Santa Monica, Vidiots is proud to be independently owned and to serve the community with its vast and eclectic library of over 50,000 film titles in every possible genre for 25 years. The expansion into film education helps make Vidiots a truly unique and invaluable cinema resource.
