WARNER BROS. ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES 2013 REACH PROGRAM HONORSHIP RECIPIENTS

Warner Bros. Entertainment has announced high school seniors Alexi Fiumani, Karl Ravancho, Isabel De Honor, Richard Kent, and Samuel Park as the 2013 Reach Honorship recipients.

Through its Reach program, Warner Bros. awards scholarship-internship packages, known as Honorships, to six graduating high school seniors passionate about the entertainment business each year. As part of these Honorships, students are awarded scholarships as well as the opportunity to complete four summer internships at Warner Bros., beginning with the summer immediately following their high school graduation. Additionally, each summer the scholars are paired with a different executive mentor and provided additional networking opportunities with entertainment industry professionals. Successful Reach program graduates are eligible for full-time positions at the company after completing their degrees.

“The Reach program allows us to identify up-and-coming talent in our local community,†said Michael Walbrecht, Vice President, Public Affairs, Warner Bros. Entertainment. “We are committed to the professional development of our Reach recipients, and the internships provide them with the unique opportunity to gain practical experience within multiple departments at Warner Bros. while honing crucial business skills and building relationships with industry professionals.â€

Alexi Fiumani and Karl Ravancho, recent graduates from Burbank High School and Providence High School, respectively, are this year’s winners of the Burbank Reach Honorships, created specifically for residents of the Studio’s longtime hometown. Fiumani will be a freshman at San Diego State University in the fall and plans to study marketing. Ravancho will be attending the University of California, Berkeley starting in the spring of 2014 and will be pursuing a degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing. Both will receive a $10,000 college scholarship coupled with the opportunity to complete four consecutive, paid summer internships at the Studio while in college.

Three Los Angeles County Reach Honorships were awarded to Isabel De Honor, Richard Kent, and Samuel Park. All three students will also receive a $10,000 college scholarship and the opportunity to complete four paid summer internships at the Studio. A graduate from San Pedro Senior High School, De Honor will be attending California State University, East Bay this fall, majoring in communications. Kent, who attended Belmont High School, plans to focus on entertainment business and international studies this fall at the University of California, Los Angeles. Having graduated from University High School, Park will be attending Northwestern University where he plans to study psychology.
