Why Computers Matter

The Willows Community School proudly announces an evening with internationally known speaker and educator, Gary Stager on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 7:00 pm in The Willows Community School Theater, The Willows Community School, 8509 Higuera Street, Culver City, 90232. This event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Stager is a leader in the implementation of technology in education and the effective application of computers as learning tools for students. Recognized as a pioneer of the 1:1 laptop movement in schools, he has spent 28 years assisting teachers on six continents in making schools more constructive places for children. Tech & Learning Magazine named Gary Stager as “one of today’s leaders who are changing the landscape of Ed-tech through innovation and leadership.†Dr. Stager is an associate of the prestigious Thornburg Center for Professional Development, an Executive Director of The Constructivist Consortium, a Visiting Professor of education at Pepperdine University, where he helped design Pepperdine’s Master of Arts in Education Technology degree program, and a consultant with the Constructionist Learning Laboratory and Fielding Nair International. He holds a Ph.D. in science and mathematics education from The University of Melbourne.
